Sylvia and Matt are generous, sincere and so unbelievably kindhearted. It is close to impossible to find anything that you don't like about them. You may remember them from their Seattle engagement session a few months ago. These two have an eye and appreciation for modern design and sweet architecture, and like Chris and I, they like to spend hours perusing some of Seattle's greatest mid-century modern furniture stores :). Sylvia and Matt got married at the Four Seasons on one of the prettiest days Seattle has seen in a while. The summation of the day was this; we came, we played, we explored, we laughed, we cried and we all danced our faces off at the end of the night (see last photo in the set haha!). It was a blast of a day with a killer team of people involved.

We loved how Syliva and Matt really incorporated their personal style into every part of their day; from the flowers, to the cake, to the beautifully designed menu.  All of it was consistent with a "less is more" kind of approach that I really appreciated. We love you Sylvia and Matt, and we hope you are having a blast on the beaches in Spain right now!

I agree with Sylvia. These pictures are great. Seeing how you have an eye to capture the perfect pose and picture, it shows. Also, you have the personality to match!

So glad you are back here! I adore their menus. I also adore the portrait of Sylvia alone against the pure white wall. And I extra adore the one of her hands on the glass, all Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beck style. Awesome job!

Anna & Jose can be best described in one word. Gracious. They are the couple that never ceases to say "thank you" for everything... and to me, that goes so far. Thanksgiving always leads to joy and these two are very joyful. They are also humble, kind and have hearts of gold. They have known each other for forever and dated almost half their lives, it's really sweet.

Jose is the happy- go-lucky guy who is ALWAYS smiling. Anna is loyal, humble and so encouraging. They are just all around good people. They got married in January and it had been raining for a week straight in Seattle, so we all thought that surely it would do the same on their wedding day. Thankfully, we woke up the day of their wedding and the sun was peeking through the clouds, we didn't get a drop of rain on us until right as the photos were wrapping up! Someone was watching out for Anna & Jose on their big day :)

One thing you will notice is a few images of Anna's grandparents. They came in from Italy to be there for Jose and Anna. Their accents were so mesmerizing and I just thought the two of them together were beautiful. They have been married for a few decades now.. a committed love like that is to be admired.

Anna & Jose it was so much fun to be a part of your big day! Thank you for being wonderfully you :)

This post just blew my mind... You've got an eye for moments and framing unlike any I've seen before! It's always inspiring to see how much effort you put into your work and I think this wedding is right at the top of my favorite wedding photos list.

Thanks for being an inspiration!

You got to admit to yourself that you did a great shot of setting a visual mood in a very difficult situation of that cheap motel room the groom was in. Challanging situation to make something memorable and you pulled it off well. I often find myself in those difficult situations with less than grand locations and perfect models doing the fake wedding shoots. I have to hand it to you for doing a great job in "Any" Situation. That is a true test of a skilled pro shooter. In this day in age I see merely those who make fake blogs or prepackaged perfect staged weddings on those blogs. So seeing this set of images was refreshing.. I tip my hat to you..

Every time I visit your blog....I don't have to wonder, I just know. I know it's going to be great. :)

I have goosebumps!! These are amazing Sarah! Congrats to Jose & Anna :)

A huge thank you to each of our amazing clients who made this year spectacular for us! You are the people that allow us to live out our passion. You are the ones who caught the vision behind why we do this and believed in it. You are the ones who had complete faith and trust in us. You are the people who have inspired us and encouraged us and pushed us to be greater. You are the people who trusted us and empowered us. We feel so thankful to each of you, but mostly, we feel humbled.

We found it INSANELY difficult to do a "Best of 2009" post so instead these are some highlights from the past year. Most of the photos are ones that I personally connected with for one reason or another. But that is the hard part, I felt connected to so many of our images from this year. This post started as 220 images (a ton I know!!) and Chris finally made us narrow it down to more like 30, which I found too difficult to do, so I just let him do the picking and these are just a handful of the highlights of 2009. Looking forward to a fantastic year in 2010. It's going to be a great one, I can just feel it in my bones :)

Happy New Year!

We are so excited to have Cristin & Harpur's beautiful estate wedding featured in the latest issue of Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom Magazine. Cristin & Harpur's wedding was so much fun to be a part of. They truly incorporated their personal style into every part of the weekend. In the magazine article, I loved Cristin & Harpur's advice to get people out of their comfort zones and do some kind of destination or getaway wedding. Weddings like that are always an "experience" rather than an "event." Cristin & Harpur's wedding was so special because they really took the time to make it an incredible experience for each person in attendance.

My favorite thing that Cristin said to other brides in the article is "Don't worry about getting your dress dirty." And this is why Cristin is my kind of gal. :) That is the best advice anyone can give you brides! Let go of the dress and live in it on your wedding day! Your dress is not supposed to be something that stresses you out it is supposed to be something that makes you feel beautiful. The brides that embrace this sentiment always get the best photos. They are less concerned with worrying about their dress touching the ground and more concerned with getting amazing images that they will have forever. You wont remember the little stain on the bottom of your dress, you WILL remember how you looked in your photos. So on your wedding day, Let go of the dress and the stress and LIVE in it on your big day! Not only will it make your photographer happy, it will also make all of your bridesmaids happy too. When the bride is stressed, everyone is stressed... so take one more thing off your list of things to worry about on your wedding day and let go of the dress :)
