We had the pleasure of photographing Lindsey & Mike while we were in New York last week. Lindsey is a photographer in the New york area and is a total sweetheart, she reached out to us last spring when we were in NYC and we grabbed some coffee together and got to know each other a little bit. We were so delighted when Lindsey emailed me about scheduling a shoot between her and her husband Mike while we were in the NY area shooting a wedding.

These two met in the financial world in Lindsey's other life when she used to work in finance before going full time with her photography. These guys are a perfect story of balance and the yin and yang. They just fill in each others weak spots and compliment one anthers strong spots. Put plain and simple, Lindsey & Mike are a totally great team together.

We had a blast hanging out with these two and strolling the streets of New York and then shooting in one of the coolest rooftop decks I have ever seen. These guys made us laugh and invited us without reservation into their "world."  We are so glad they did, we had a mini dance party on the roof where Mike showed us his best moves from the 80's which mostly included him doing the "Roger Rabbit" it was a solid performance ;) The best thing in the world is when people can let their guard down with us, even if that means us dancing like dorks on some roof in NYC. It's moments like that that make this wayyy too much fun to call it a "job."

About a month ago we ventured to the desert lands of the great state of Arizona. It was my first time to actually stop there for more than just a potty stop driving through. We actually went down a few days before the wedding we were shooting so we could hang out with some of our close friends. We got a call the night before we were leaving from our friends saying they wouldn't be able to make it due to a family emergency. So we decided to make the most of our time and throw together a personal test while we were there. This shoot came together in a little under 10 hours... it was a little crazy. Chris and I had a blast spending the day with Tori and Amanda in Tucson, Arizona. I'm so glad we made the little drive from Scottsdale to Tucson because I loved all the little nooks and crannies all over the city of Tucson. It was hot as hell and the sun was blazing so I slathered on my SPH 1000 which is like my armor for life, and I was ready to conquer.

Also, a big thank you to those of you who offered some great recommendations to us while we were there! Every time it came time to eat we went to the faithful blog comments you guys left us and they never once failed us. We've got some quality food and fun people hanging out in this little virtual party room!

Julie & Travis are about as sweet as you can get when it comes to people. Plus they are funny, smart and completely head over heels for one another. Also, Julie came to the shoot wearing a jumper with ice cream cones on it, and, being the ice cream lover I am, anyone who has clothing with ice cream cones involved gets huge bonus points in my book. These two met at camp when they were just wee- ones. They have known each other for almost a decade now and after dating long distance for years they are now finally in the same place.

We are so excited for Travis & Julie's wedding in Dallas this fall. These two love video games, food, traveling and things with a little quirk. Shooting them felt so effortless, they just mesh together. After sharing this wonderful afternoon with them for their engagement session we feel like we left with two new, amazing friends.

Enjoy some Julie/Travis goodness this Monday! And oh! It's a holiday today. Happy Memorial day! A big thank you to all of the soldiers who have fought for our freedoms.

Meet one of our most wonderful friends in the world, Jordan. Mr. Butcher is a rockstar designer who was in need of some photos for some press and promo pieces. His website is currently getting worked on but you should check back next week and see some more of his fabulous work. And now is the time where I get to brag on our dear friend: Ladies, if you have seen the movie Bridesmaids, Jordan did a lot of the design on that front for the movie and soundtrack packaging. He has been Grammy nominated for his packaging work for Underoath, and did all of the packaging for one of my favorite shows on right now, 30-Rock, for their coffee table book soundtrack packaging. Basically his client list is pretty epic and Jordan is the jam both professionally and personally.

I feel like these images are a pretty honest and authentic portrayal of Jordan. He is an all-American guy who would secretly rather be working in a factory back in the 1940's. He has been like a big brother to me and is one of Chris' closest friends. We're super thankful to have Jordan in our lives. Jordan is bold, he is confident and his hard exterior is really holding together his sweet softy of an interior. He's got a heart of gold and would do anything for his friends. Jordan is the guy who picks us up from the airport in the middle of the night. I'm a pretty firm believer that a quick and easy test for true friends is who takes you and picks you up from the airport. Try it sometime... you'll know real quick who loves you. And then don't say I never taught you anything :)
