Featured in Design Aglow

We are so thrilled to be featured in Issue 9, The Innovation Issue of Design Aglow! The issue is based around those in the industry who are pushing the innovation envelope. It is loaded with inspiration! We feel so honored to be featured in this fantastic online magazine alongside many photographers, colleagues and industry leaders who we have long admired such as, Elizabeth Messina, Red Leaf Studios, Gene Higa, Whitebox Photography, Laura Novak and others.

Chris and I have a 32 page feature written by the fabulous miss Laura Hamby, focusing on our brand and blog and the innovation risks we took during the process of developing both. We discus the rewards of thinking outside the box and developing and owning your own unique voice in order to stand out from the pack. I am so thrilled with the way the article turned out and can't wait to boil a pot of tea and cozy up next to my computer with this issue and read more from the other fantastic contributors. Most notably, Elizabeth Mensina's inspiration article... I can't wait to get my hands on reading that one. I'd encourage you to mosey on over and get your hands on this fantastic 256 page magazine full of inspiration, design and innovation from lots of amazing industry leaders.

So I was super shocked to come home from my shoot today with a twitter message from my girl Elesia @photogeninc with a congrats on being nominated for Blu Domain's Photographers of the Year!! Chris and I are super honored to be on the list along with some great friends and photographers that we admire ;) I'm a little giddy right now. 
We sure would be forever grateful if our loyal blog readers and friends would vote for us when the time comes ;) 

I feel like I just need to take a moment and thank a lot of our blog readers and friends for being so supportive and encouraging of us. I can't tell you how much it means for us to read each of your comments and receive your e mails. Knowing that our work inspires something in someone is probably the best compliment anyone could give us. It is so encouraging to us and is just a reminder to us that we are doing exactly what we were created to do. 
So thank you... from the bottom of our hearts. Each and every one of your comments is read and appreciated more than you will know. ;)

In other news... Chris surprised me yesterday morning with an early anniversary gift of a lens that I have been wanting for a while now, the Canon 50mm f/1.2 ... Instead of expensive jewelry items these are the things that dorky photographers get one another as a "romantic" anniversary gifts ;) It made me giddy anyway. I just used it on a shoot I had tonight and LOVED it, although I don't think anything can come between me and my favorite lens, the Canon 35mm f/1.4. Off to sushi with friends! Have a lovely evening guys! 

And thanks BLU for the awesome nomination!! Made our night!

Featured on Brides Cafe & TRUST

I was so excited to discover that not one, but TWO of our beautiful couples got a feature today on one of my very favorite inspiration blogs for Brides, The Brides Cafe. Any Brides out there who are looking for some wedding inspiration should check out miss Janie's lovely little blog dedicated to helping brides create a unique Wedding experience via lots and lots of ideas and photos. I LOVE this blog and we are sooo happy and honored to be featured on there today! 

Maureen & Vitaliy's most fabulous wedding was featured on the site today! AND
Luna & Yanda's super fun Seattle Engagement session was also featured earlier today as well! Yippee! 

I am especially excited that these two were featured because both couples trusted us fully and completely and gave us total artistic freedom which is medicine for an EPIC shoot. The inspiration juices were flowin' strong at both Maureen & Vitaliy's wedding and during Luna & Yanda's shoot. A big factor that goes into a shoot of Epic proportion is TRUST. Doing what we do as photographers requires a great deal of it. Our couples are allowing us to peek into intimate parts of their relationship that they don't often show to people. To capture those magic moments that we capture with our couples requires that everyone feel comfortable enough to let down any guard that they may have, and laugh, giggle, cuddle, flirt, PDA ;) and just be authentically them. That is why we place so much emphasis on chemistry with our clients, it is so important that they feel comfortable with us and allow us to come into their little "love world" and capture it from our unique perspective. These two couples totally & completely trusted us to sneak into those magic/secret little parts of their relationship and capture them as they are which made the shoots soo much fun for us!

I woke up this morning to the sweet smell of rain and an awesome e mail in my inbox from my buddies at ITDR who let us know that us, our blog, and our brand were featured in Professional Photographer Magazine this month! How cool is that?! I have to give a big shout out to our buddies at ITDR  for helping us execute our brand into a blog in a way that is very *us*. On another note, yesterday and today is really the day of exciting features... We also had Kelsey & Nick's killer wedding featured on one of my favorite wedding blogs, Southern Weddings.
