Luna contacted me about 8 months ago about shooting their Parsons Garden ceremony & intimate Canlis Reception wedding. Alas, we were already booked for their date but Luna & Yanda still wanted to capture engagement photos together!

I must say, if Chris and I were to get married all over again in Seattle, an intimate ceremony at Parsons Park (which is down the street from our house) and a delicious reception to follow at Canlis would be the way we would probably go. So Luna & Yanda are kind of having our Seattle dream wedding. ;) They got married this past weekend and I am so very happy for them!

The outfits they wore to their engagement session totally showed off their excellent sense of personal style and I was a little obsessed with Luna's awesome dress! Any of my couple's who are looking for outfit advice on what to wear, Luna & Yanda nailed it!! They came dressed in something a little more "sassy/classy" for our time at UW and then changed into some really bright awesome colors for our time frolicking in the fields!

Luna & Yanda wanted to add time to their session so that they could cover a variety of locations so I ended up having 3.5 hours of time with these two!! It was EPIC! We talked about good music, of which, they have incredible taste. And they made me laugh, A LOT!
Luna & Yanda had complete trust and faith in me and had an amazing natural chemistry together... all ingredients for an incredible session!

Congrats you guys! Hope you are having a blast on your honeymoon!

I also thought I would share a little e mail I got this morning from Luna after she saw the blog images, it made my day ;)

Hi Sarah!
As you already know, I am a regular subscriber to your blog. So when I saw that there's a brand new entry on my Google Reader, my heart started pounding and I had a feeling that after your June 5 post (in which the images were super fun and they cracked me up), I thought perhaps ours might come up soon. And there they were! I can't begin to tell you how thrilled both of us were going through those pictures tonight as soon as we discovered them.. They were insanely fabulous!! The very last one is my favorite among all: it totally captures how Yanda and I are with each other. I also really loved the UW library shots and the grassy field; they were exactly what I had wanted/imagined, only a million times better.
Thank you SO MUCH for spending so much time with us for the super awesome shots! You are truly talented and we couldn't be any happier with the images. (At first I was worried about my hairdo because I felt that I didn't look like myself with it, but you made everything look so beautiful, easy and natural and I couldn't be happier with the result.) I am so glad that we chose you for our e-session; you were absolutely wonderful to work with! We had so much fun with you and can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!

Love,
Luna & Yanda

While we were in Chicago we had the pleasure of hanging out with Meggan & Blake and shooting some engagements for them! They really wanted to capture the city where their love blossomed so we started out in some central areas of Chicago on some really neat bridges and then moved to their future neighborhood that they are moving to once they get married, Wicker Park, which just happens to be my very favorite neighborhood in Chicago! So fun! Oh and yes, we did get on a roof in Lincoln Park for some of these... it was ridiculously awesome.

Meggan & I met my freshman year of college. I had just moved from Chicago to Oklahoma to attend college. Needless to say, I didn't have very many friends who wanted to move down to Oklahoma to go to college with me.... leaving me quite friendless for a season. My mom felt bad for me sulking around all the time, so she decided to get me some guitar lessons at DaddyO's. While she was there that day she ran into Meggan & Jamie.

I ended up running around with the two of them for a lot of my freshman year of college.
When I didn't know anyone and was quite destitute in the "friend department" that is where Meggan came in.  That is just the type of person Meggan is. Generous, kind hearted, a Lover. I feel very grateful for her and Jamie's complete kindness to me during that season of my life. They were the very first friends I had in Oklahoma!

Anyhow, I am so happy for my sweet friend Meggan to have met such a perfect fella to spend her life with. Blake is so charming, chivalrous and sacrificial in his love to Meggan. They have created a beautiful little life for themselves in Chicago and I cannot wait to see the great many places they will go and the things they will do! Love you guys!

Kim feels like a friend I have had for a long time. She laughs a lot and is always smiling, I love that about her.  When we first chatted on the phone, I instantly fell in love with her positivity and charisma... Kim is one of those people that you just cannot help but love.

Christian has a subtle humor that manifests itself at all the right moments... or maybe I just like him because he laughs at my lame jokes ;).  Christian works on vintage cars and has about 1 bazzillion cars around his house that he is always working on... it's his thing... everyone needs a thing. Cars are Christian's.

The day of Kim & Christian's session's was one of those beautiful gem's of a day in Seattle. It was one of those days where I just wanted to go outside lay in the grass and just bask in it... I got to do something even better that day and shoot these two amazing love birds. As I was running around in the fields with K & C letting the sun kiss our faces I couldn't help but think about how thankful I am that I get to do this..... that I get to tell love stories of people like Kim & Christian... that I get to love on people and frolic and be a little kid for my JOB! I couldn't have felt more fulfilled in that moment running around in that sun-kissed field that afternoon with these two.
I feel thankful, every day for the blessing and honor it is to capture love.... and live out my passion.

Kim & Christian are getting married in a very special place to me.... Cannon Beach. It was where Chris & I celebrated our first wedding anniversary and I have some of the sweetest memories of my life from that weekend.... So needless to say we are so stoked to venture back to Cannon Beach, OR this summer for Kim & Christian's big day!

Here is why Angela & Elliott are the bomb:
- they love it that I say 'RAD' and lots of other lame 80's words ;)
- they have a killer sense of personal style
- they are free spirits and love to laugh
- they are energetic and down to earth
- when I ask them to do something really goofy they totally just trust my artistic intuition.
- they are some of the most loving and proud parents of little Alexis their baby girl
- they are passionate
- they are comfortable in their own skin.
- they love life and take it as it comes.

From the first time I talked to Angela on the phone her energetic spirit and love for life left me feeling on top of the world. Angela is a rock star momma and fiance! ;) Her and Elliott make a fantastic team! If you want to see a few more from their session you can check out their Guest Sign-in Album slideshow here

We can't wait for your intimate backyard wedding in Lake Chelan!
