About

The Team.

We are Sarah & Chris Rhoads of Sarah Rhoads Photographers,

a husband and wife photography team based in Seattle, WA. We are passionate about telling peoples stories fully and authentically from a unique artistic perspective. We are excited about creating imaginative and honest imagery.  We are bored with that which is systematic & contrived. We crave the unusual. We hold tight to the philosophy that people should be themselves fully and un-apologetically.  We like tea on a rainy day. Love the company of one another and see the world as our playground. Get to know us a little better by watching our promo video.

Sarah Rhoads.

We are all artists in our own way, moving through life painting the canvas of our world with the colors we choose to write our stories in. Everyone has something to share, a story to tell, and I have mine. Although it may seem incompatible to share my love story in relation to my photography, I would not be the artist I am without the person I share my biscotti, my life and my heart with; my husband and partner in crime, Chris.

When I was fourteen, I bought my first SLR camera. Since then my camera has been like a kid sister that follows me around wherever I go. Several years ago I had the opportunity to spend some time in West Africa. During my journey I took hundreds of rolls of film, all telling the stories of all of the fascinating people that touched my life. The experience was truly life changing. Shortly thereafter we formed what is now Sarah Rhoads Photographers.

As a husband and wife team, it is our desire to bring a fresh perspective to the beautiful people we work with. Telling people's stories fully and authentically from a unique artistic perspective is truly our passion. We are truly blessed for the joy that our art brings us. It makes us come alive; a freedom that allows us to paint our canvas in purples, yellows and sunset oranges.

Chris Rhoads.

My name is Chris, I take pictures. My real name is actually Jeffrey, but I have gone by Chris, my middle name, since day one.  For a good majority of my life I have worked as a live and studio bassist, traveling the world and getting to embrace art, culture, and music in its many different facets.  Photography was always a natural creative outlet for me as I traveled.  The ability to capture a moment in time from your own perspective has always fascinated me. I have a natural curiosity for humanity, cultures and the arts.

I like tea on a rainy day. I love spending time with my wife. I never get sick of ramen noodles. I love riding around on our mint green Vespa with Sarah on back.

'Common sense means living in the world as it is today; but creative people are people who don't want the world as it is today but want to make another world.' -- Abraham Maslow
