Heather & Alina are strong, beautiful, independent, down to earth, ambitious, thoughtful, gracious and caring. From the time we were first introduced by Jesse and Travis (their fantastic coordinators) I felt like we were old friends. Their wedding was a true reflection of their hearts for one another. It was one of those weddings that I shed a few tears because their love for one another was overwhelming in the best possible sense of the word. They are the type of people who say "thank you" for everything possible because they truly mean it. It's amazing how far those two little words can go with me. We could all take a little lesson in "graciousness" from them.

It feels so good to be back in Seattle, it was like it turned fall overnight. The leaves crunching beneath my feet, the foggy mist, the bright reds, yellow's and oranges take my heart every year. This truly is a magical season. Especially in Seattle, I don't know what it is about fall here but it is especially colorful and "Autumn-like". If I could live in a constant state of fall I would... but then again it wouldn't quite be fall without the expectation of winter :)

As you may have noticed, we are currently swimming in engagement sessions/lifestyle shoots, so we are working hard trying to get things turned around and edited, hence the mass amount of shoots hitting the blog. Jessica & Colin are one of our fantastic 2010 couples. We are soo thrilled to have them as a part of the Sarah Rhoads Family for next year! They are fun, playful, lovable, passionate, kind, funny & adventurous. I just love being around them. They just have those infectious personalities that draw you in. It's hard not to love them.

I have a lot of favorites in this set of images... the light was just perfect and so were my sweet subjects. I feel like the set really captures the different dynamics of Jessica & Colin's relationship.... from funny and fun to passionate and romantic. It's always so important that we capture those different authentic facets of a couple, the "edges and curves" that make them truly unique. One thing I love about what we do is that every day is different and no couple is just alike. Love finds interesting and beautiful ways of manifesting itself and it sure does make my life more exciting.

On another note, I thought I would share one of our favorite business blogs with those of you interested. It is Seth Godin's Blog who is one of our favorite Marketing Guru's. His book Purple Cow was pivotal in developing our new brand when it rolled out last December. His blog is full of little gems of wisdom.

"Love: a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brian, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker."

Kylie & John are some fun photographers who commissioned Chris and I to capture them for their wedding anniversary this year! It is always so fun to shoot photographers, most time's they LOVE exactly what we do and just trust us to capture them as they are. Kylie and John have known each other since high school and then ended up getting married two years ago. They have that playful kind of love that reminds you of being a kid. Youthful love is fun love.

We went out to the area that they live and have fond memories of growing up together. They made us laugh a LOT during the session. I am a firm believer that couples who laugh together, stay together :). Kylie has always been one of those sweet and faithful blog readers who leaves us thoughtful and encouraging messages so it was so fun to finally meet her in person!

I would love for Chris and I to get photos done by a different one of our photographer friends every year... just to be able to look back and see the different seasons of our lives together and watch as the wrinkles develop from laughing, smiling and just LIFE happening. It was fun to capture "life" happening for these two... what a neat couple they are.

Kari & Cedric are generous and so fun. To give you an idea of just how generous and totally fun they are, just recently, they invited us to share their box seats at the Pearl Jam show when the band played in Seattle. Unfortunately I was out of town so we couldn't make it out, but it was so stinkin' thoughtful and generous of them to think of us. They are just good people like that.

Kari and Cedric both know good music... they are Pete Yorn lovers which only deepens my natural affection for them :). Cedric has been involved with the entertainment industry for some time now, so he is always keeping me up on new albums etc. etc. He is what I like to call, "On the Pulse."  Needless to say, their wedding will be wicked cool with a live band to go along with the amazing party they will be having. Chris and I cannot wait.

These images were shot on what I would like to consider one of the most beautiful Seattle days in history..... okay, okay, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but really, it was just that beautiful. Man, I love this city.
