Jess & Brett are such beautiful people inside and out. They laugh freely and are so humble & kind They are the faces behind Studio3z and we had the wonderful opportunity to photograph them in the desert of Nevada when we were there a couple weeks ago for WPPI! It was such a blast to photograph in such a different scene than we're used to. Red rock canyon was the perfect backdrop to photograph Jess & Brett. They love the outdoors, their family and life and are currently going through a re-brand so their brand is a more honest reflection of them. We felt so honored they asked us to capture them for their new site and blog.

I seriously don't know how these two do everything they do. They have a slew of kidos, they homeschool them, they run a business and are also amazing parents. It's hard to imagine how someone would be great at all of those things, but they are! They have mastered the art of life balance so it seems. Which is the secret all of us small business owners are really trying to figure out.... the million dollar question, "how do we juggle it all and keep good balance in our lives?"

This year I feel like we are just beginning to tap the surface of that question. We have set more parameters that we are enforcing for the year. One of those new balance parameters being we stop work at 6:30pm everyday and we do not work on Sunday's. I have an alarm that goes off every day that tells us to stop working. We used to work until all hours of the night. This is a much healthier approach and I also feel like we are more productive in the process. The truth is, when you own your own business the work will NEVER be done. There are always things we can be doing so sometimes it is hard to pull ourselves away... but since enforcing both of these small changes, I have found us to be more creative, inspired and full of energy which ultimately makes us better for each other and better for our clients.

Enjoy the beautiful Jess & Brett!

I love the photos (of course) but I really want to comment on your boundaries. I still work too much and especially in the evening, but for us Sunday is sacred. We've always considered Sunday a day of rest, worship, and fellowship and it recalibrates our souls even when life is crazy! Gordon Dahl is noted for declaring, “Our problem today is that we worship our work, work at our play, and play at our worship." Good for you guys as you rejigger your routines.
