If Rose and Matt were a pie they would be blueberry. Sweet, delicious, not too over the top, lovable and absolutely beautiful.

Some of my most cherished childhood memories are graced with the sweetness of blueberry pie. I have vivid memories of staying up late with my dad while everyone else was asleep. The two of us would sneak in the refrigerator for some of my mom's amazing blueberry pie, we'd warm it up in the micro for a bit and then plop a delicious scoop of Breyer's Vanilla Bean ice cream on the top and watch it melt over the sides of the delicious purple pie.  Dad and I could devour a whole pie together in one setting. It was my dad's favorite. Dad always said it just wasn't the same without that scoop of Breyers. My dad was right about a lot of things.... but one thing my dad definitely knew was good pie and good ice cream. I now thank my dad for my horrific sweet tooth :)

Needless to say, I love blueberry pie. And I love my sweet little blueberry-pie-in-the-sky couple Rose and Matt. They are like that warm piece of blueberry pie with vanilla bean ice cream on top.  What's not to love? Matt is a super talented and popular drummer who's played with several bands that you have probably listened to. Rose is his partner in crime and is also a very talented musician and artist. I think it's so amazing that these two have had the opportunity to be on the road together on tour... what an amazing part of their story. Chris met Matt a couple of years ago while filling in for a bassist and their bass and drum groove was unparalleled :).  We met these two at church and fell in love with them and we're so excited to have them model for our mentor session with Chatti and Matt.

Chris brought out the old large format again for this shoot. I love the double exposure shot. it is lovely and so are Rose and Matt. And a HUGE shout out to the fabulous Tiffany Lowry for doing Rose's make up for this shoot. She is the bomb dot com.

p.s. And now I'm hungry for some blueberry pie. Anyone know of a good pie joint in Seattle I can get my fix?

p.p.s. For my fellow Lost Addicts out there... today is the day!!

To expand on my tweet.. I really loved the story of the blueberry pie and your dad.. What a great story about a bond between family members.. I myself found it heart warming and interesting as I am preparing for my favorite uncle's 80th birthday "he doesnt look a day over 65".... The subtle lessons learned in the moments of sharing a bit of blueberry sweetness can last a lifetime... Mine growing up was the same but it was my aunts cheesecake that she made from scratch and the brutally honest conversations she shared with me.... I miss her firary redheaded spirit...

The way you describe this couple was perfect and the story a nice feel good. I really think you should do a blog on blueberry pie. Perhaps how to make it or were to find some or the best places to find it. I know this may be a bit off topic of you usual blog post or photos but I feel it will be a well accepted and equally enjoyable blog post for all....

I think all of us have a similar story that we can relate to when we grew up.. So I think this will touch many individuals on many levels. As usual the images are great... Makes me wish I still had my Sinar P 4x5 as well as not getting ride of my first camera a RB67 Pro S last month.. Keep up the great stories I think everyone loves them as much as the photos..

And Sarah, now you've brought back my own childhood memories...my grandmother had blueberry fields just outside Seattle...ah, the sweetness.
